How Kalanirmati
came to life
Kolam has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up watching the women in my family draw these intricate patterns at the doorstep every morning โ a daily ritual of beauty, devotion, and creativity.
One day, I thought: what if Kolam could live beyond the floor? What if these patterns โ so full of meaning and geometry โ could find a home on walls, in puja rooms, in the hands of people who may have never seen a Kolam drawn in real life?
"Art that feels like home โ that's what I set out to create."
Kalanirmati was born from that question. Every piece I make carries the tradition forward โ not behind glass in a museum, but in living rooms, gifted to loved ones, hanging in homes across India and beyond.
โ๏ธ Replace with your real origin story โ when did you start? What was the first piece you made? What was the moment you decided to share it with the world?
